Monthly Love Horoscopes - July 2018
All the action is on the romantic front this month and there is a lot of it. Just starting the month with Venus, planet of love in your romantic sector is a huge advantage and while she will leave on the 10th July, she sets the scene for the other planets that will follow. Mercury, who returned late last month for what should be a 15 day visit aimed at giving your heart a voice and putting heart and mind on the same page, will instead spend the whole month here and also the whole of August as well. It is Mercury's retrograde turn on the 26th July that turns this short 15 day visit into a two month marathon, with the planet of communication here until early September. Mercury will be here and in retrograde motion, holding the doors open to the past and second chances when next month's solar eclipse creates the potential for major and fateful new beginnings. Yet the lead up to the eclipse won't even begin until the Sun returns to your romantic sector on the 23rd July, as he does at this time every year. While the North Node, the force behind last August's total solar eclipse here, a lunar eclipse earlier in the year and next month's solar eclipse won't leave until November, this is the last planetary push. July is always a romantically charged month or definitely part of it will always be, but not to the extent that you find this year. In the meantime, the Moon makes a very ordinary return to your relationship sector from the 18th July to the 20th July. Returning every four weeks to fuel your emotional responses, there is nothing extraordinary about this visit. Other than the fact that this is the last visit before Venus, planet of love not only returns early next month, but to spend the majority of the next four months here. This makes it important to pay attention.
You have reached an important and special month on both the romantic and relationship fronts, though for very different reasons. On the relationship front, all eyes are on Jupiter, as he starts the month in his final days in retrograde motion in your relationship sector. It is Jupiter's direct turn on the 11th July that not only shifts your relationship focus from the past to the road ahead, but begins the third and final phase of his 13 day journey. It is a solar eclipse in your communication sector on the 13th July, just two days after the tide turns, that creates the potential for a communication and/or relationship breakthrough. In the meantime, you start the month with planetary activity in your romantic sector, which is early in the year for that to happen. To start with this is fairly low key, with Jupiter drawing the kind of attention to your relationships that could outshine this. After all, Jupiter is the largest and most powerful planet in the solar system while Ceres, in her early days in your romantic sector is a dwarf planet. However, romantic matters will start punching above their weight when Venus, planet of love returns to your romantic sector on the 10th July, just a day before Jupiter's direct turn on the relationship front. Venus is able to compete with Jupiter and your relationships, but what is more likely is that the planets of love and luck will work together, with the most romantically charged weeks of the year kicking off just as the tide turns on the relationship front. The Moon will move through your romantic sector from the 16th July to the 18th July, with romantically charged lunar vibes coming together with Venus to create some of the most romantically charged days of the month. Venus will leave early next month, with Ceres here through to early September, able to get to the heart of your heart's real wants and needs.
With no planetary activity on the romantic and relationship fronts, there is a lot more importance being put on the Moon's monthly visits. Yet don't assume that romantic and relationship matters are developing, with the love and relationship gods more active than you might think. With Venus, planet of love and guardian of your relationships in your communication sector until the 10th July and Mercury, planet of communication here all month, your relationships are in safe hands. With the Sun in your communication sector from the 23rd July, the Moon's return to your relationship sector on the 22nd July couldn't come with better timing. With Mercury turning retrograde in your communication sector on the 26th July, it is just after the Moon has stirred your emotional responses to relationship matters, that he'll bring a chance to give the past and unsaid words a voice. Communication is the key to keeping your relationships on track and here there is nothing but support this month. On the romantic front, there doesn't seem to be a lot happening, but that doesn't explain a growing sense of romantic confidence and anticipation. Pay attention during the Moon's return to your romantic sector from the 18th July to the 20th July, for there is something about these romantically charged lunar vibes that will add even more fuel to a growing sense of romantic confidence and anticipation. By then Venus will be on a mission to make your life as love friendly as possible, with a need to pay attention to any work/life balance issues around this time. For this is the Moon's last visit before Venus, planet of love not only returns to your romantic sector early next month, but will spend the majority of the next four months.
To start with it is business as usual on both the romantic and relationship fronts, but there will also be a sense, on the relationship front in particular, that a corner has been turned. For the first time in 12 years, you have begun your birthday month and new solar year with lucky Jupiter in your romantic sector, where he has been since last October. And for the first time in three decades, you have Saturn in your relationship sector, where he has been since last December. With both in retrograde motion, the Sun's return to Cancer last month saw you start a new solar year with the doors open to the past and second chances on the romantic and relationship fronts. However, while Jupiter is doing nothing but hold the doors open to the past and second chances, Saturn has been less forgiving. It was the Sun's opposition with Saturn during a Full Moon late last month, that may have brought old relationship issues to a head. Yet this came during Mercury, planet of communication's last full day in Cancer. Any relationship tension will be dropping back as you move into the new month, but with a need for balance between your personal and relationship needs being policed, you're left with a better sense of what you want from your relationships and what they need from you. Yet this month things take a dramatic turn for the better on both fronts. With Ceres in your communication sector all month and Venus, planet of love returning on the 10th July, your relationships have a voice. At the same time, Jupiter's direct turn in your romantic sector on the 11th July will see the tide turn on the romantic front.
Starting the month with Venus, planet of love in Leo is giving your heart a jump on your new solar year, before it even begins. Last year Venus didn't return to Leo until the 26th August, returning to update your romantic and relationship desires and expectations for the coming year, three days after your birthday month ended. This year Venus is not letting that happen and leaving on the 10th July, she will have updated your romantic and relationship desires and expectations before your birthday month and new solar year even begins on the 23rd July. And just as well, for there is a lot for Venus to work with. This is Venus' first visit to Leo since Saturn left your romantic sector last December and with Mars having only left in March, there are over three years of momentum for her to tap into. Chances are you have a clear sense of what you want from love, but an even clearer sense of what you don't want. If you've been through love's boot camp over the last three years, Venus is able to capitalise on that, creating a new sense of romantic conviction. The Moon's return to your romantic sector from the 22nd July to the 25th July will see your new solar year begin with romantically charged lunar vibes in play. Now that's what I would call a good omen. On the relationship front, Venus has something even more present and relevant to work with as Mars, warrior planet of the cosmos is not only in your relationship sector but in retrograde motion. This is Mars' first retrograde turn in your relationship sector in 47 years and having just turned retrograde late last month, this is his first and only full month in retrograde motion, before retrograding back out next month. With a total lunar eclipse in your relationship sector on the 28th July, Mars is not only opening the doors to the past and second chances, but a potential breakthrough.
While it appears to be a case of business as usual on the romantic and relationship fronts this month, it won't feel like that, with a new sense of confidence and an even deeper sense of nostalgia on both fronts. Pluto and Saturn have been in retrograde motion in your romantic sector since April and won't turn direct until September. Spending the whole of both this month and next month in retrograde motion, the doors will remain open to the past and second chances. However, it was a Full Moon in your romantic sector late last month that both shook things up and challenged any old excuses. This is something that you will benefit from this month, with Venus playing a critical part on the romantic front this month. Venus starts the month in a nostalgic part of your chart, where she is helping out Saturn and Pluto, in retrograde motion in your romantic sector and Neptune, in his first full month in retrograde motion in your relationship sector. This puts a lot of focus on the past, especially with Jupiter in retrograde motion in your communication sector until the 11th July. While Jupiter will continue to support Neptune and your relationships, his direct turn on the 11th July marks a point where, on both the romantic and relationship fronts, the future starts calling. For it is just a day before that Venus, planet of love will return to Virgo on the 10th July, much earlier in the year than she normally does. Venus will be keen to exploit the doors open to the past and second chances on the romantic and relationship fronts, but returning to Virgo Venus will also start looking to the future.
There is something not only unexpected but stunning in play on the romantic front this month. Unexpected because there is rarely any planetary activity in your romantic sector at this time of year. With the Sun moving through each January/February and Venus and Mercury always around the same time, even with Venus returning to Libra early next month July should not be a romantically charged month and it nearly wasn't. It was Mars' return to your romantic sector in March that brought unexpected romantic developments into play. However, normally moving through in six weeks, Mars should have left late last month. Instead, on the 27th June, six weeks to the day after arriving and just when he should have left, Mars instead turned retrograde. This is the first time that Mars, planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos has turned retrograde in your romantic sector in 47 years, not only bringing unexpected romantic developments, but stunning ones at that. Mars will spend the whole of July in retrograde motion, holding the doors open to the past and second chances, before retrograding back out next month. Yet what makes this an even more stunning month, is that total lunar eclipse in your romantic sector on the 28th July. With Venus, planet of love returning to Libra early next month, she will help you capitalise on the massive amount of romantic energy being released and the element of fate this will bring into play. This is a super charged Lovers Moon and one of the most stunning in decades. Until now dominant relationship matters are taking a back seat this month, with the focus there more on healing.
There is a quiet sense of confidence on both the romantic and relationship fronts this month, not just because of what is happening on both fronts, but the support that both fronts have. As Neptune spends his first full month in retrograde motion in your romantic sector he is surrounded by support. That support is coming from Jupiter, in retrograde motion in Scorpio until the 11th July and the Sun, in an adventurous part of your chart until the 23rd July. As Neptune holds the doors open to the past and second chances, this is fuelling a potent mix of romance, adventure and nostalgia. At the same time, while Uranus has been in your relationship sector since April and is slowing down ahead of a retrograde turn next month, things take an interesting twist in the early hours of the month. For on the 1st July Juno, queen of commitment and especially commitment to your relationships, returns to your relationship sector, for the first time in four years. With Uranus making his first visit to your relationship sector in eight decades, this is the first time they have come together here since 1940. Uranus is spontaneous, while Juno is all about commitment, with the two able to balance each other out. With Saturn and Pluto not only in your communication sector but in retrograde motion, your relationships have some heavy duty support from the communication gods. This is especially so when it comes to giving the past and unsaid words a voice. It was a Full Moon in your communication sector late last month that created the potential for a communication breakthrough, something you can continue to benefit from. On both the romantic and relationship fronts the journey continues, with communication vital on both fronts.
The Sun's departure from your relationship sector on the 21st June has not just taken the solar spotlight off your relationships, but has brought all planetary activity for the year to a close. This was a short and fairly uneventful annual update, which was just what you and your relationships needed. This year the only planets to visit were the Sun, Mercury and Venus, the bare minimum of planetary activity, but with none of the push back from Saturn that there had been over the last three years. This has left you with a better sense of what you want from your relationships and what they need from you. This month all the focus shifts back to matters of the heart and all things romantic, but here the dynamics are shifting. Since Uranus left your romantic sector in April, your romantic sector has been occupied by three of the minor planets with Juno, Chiron and Eris all playing a role in keeping the momentum going. This isn't the major focus that there has been on romantic matters over the last eight years, but with Uranus retrograding back in later in the year, there is enough support to keep the momentum going. It is in the early days of the month that things start to change. It begins with Juno's departure on the 1st July, with the queen of commitment leaving you with a sense of conviction, but taking away any urgency. It is just four days later that Chiron, planet of healing turns retrograde on the 5th July, with the healing process beginning in earnest. This will be followed by Eris' retrograde turn on the 21st July, putting both remaining planets in retrograde motion. As the doors open to the past and second chances, they will also open to greater healing.
The solar spotlight is always on your relationships at this time of year, due to the fact that the Sun will always spend the first three weeks of July in your relationship sector. With Venus and Mercury both been and gone, the Sun is on his own until he too leaves on the 23rd July. This will bring all planetary activity on the relationship front for the year to a close, but there is a lot of water to pass under the bridge before then. The Moon's visit from the 12th July to the 14th July was always going to create a New Moon. Whether single, in a relationship or between relationships, this is the point during the Sun's visit at this time every year, when you're able to commit to your relationships, the future and the journey ahead. However, this will be no ordinary New Moon, but a solar eclipse, the first here in your relationship sector since 2011. Eclipses aren't random and the first since the North Node, who won't return until November, is drawing close. This could trigger some serendipitous and unexpected new relationship developments, the full implications of which might not fully reveal themselves until later in the year. In the meantime, there are some exciting developments on the romantic front as well, with Juno returning to your romantic sector on the 1st July. Returning for the first time in four years, the queen of commitment returns to team up with Uranus for the first time here since 1940. Where Uranus operates through the laws of synchronicity and through a sense of spontaneity, Juno brings a new sense of commitment and resolve. The Moon's return from the 8th July to the 10th July will give you your first sense of the dynamics this creates.
At some point, the focus will always shift to your relationships this month, with the Sun's return to your relationship sector on the 23rd July something that happens at this time every year. Yet you start the month with Venus and Mercury already here, with Venus having already spent weeks creating her magic, with Mercury still in the early days of a new communication push. Venus will leave on the 10th July, but not before leaving you with a clear sense of what you want from your relationships. Mercury, planet of communication only returned on the 29th June, but normally here for just 14 to 15 days, there should be a lot more urgency. Instead, Mercury is slowing down ahead of a retrograde turn on the 26th July, which will keep him here until early September. The Sun won't return until the 23rd July, but Mercury will remain here throughout his month long visit, spending much of it in retrograde motion, able to give your relationships, the past and unsaid words a voice. Mercury will be in retrograde motion when next month's solar eclipse brings an opportunity for major new beginnings. This year all the planets moving through your relationship sector have an unexpected challenge, with Mars on the other side of the sky in Aquarius and in opposition. Mars is policing a need for balance between your personal and relationship needs, something that might come to a head during a total lunar eclipse on the 28th July. Maybe that is why Mercury, planet of communication is staying on, with his retrograde turn two days before this lunar eclipse ensuring he's on hand to give your emotional responses, relationships, the past and unsaid words a voice. This creates the potential for a breakthrough.
There is a mix of the ordinary and the extraordinary this month and on both the romantic and relationship fronts. Ordinary because the Sun will always spend the first three weeks of July in your romantic sector and at some point during his month long visit, while the solar spotlight is on matters of the heart and all things romantic, there will be a New Moon. Yet extraordinary because the Moon will move through your romantic sector from the 12th July to the 14th July and will create a New Moon on the 13th July, which will be no ordinary New Moon, but a solar eclipse. A solar eclipse brings the element of fate into play while creating the potential for major new beginnings. This is, in fact, the first sign that there are fateful developments down the line, with the North Node drawing close to its first visit to your romantic sector in 17 years. There will be no more planetary activity in your romantic sector once the Sun leaves on the 23rd July, but something has been triggered that will bloom into something game changing later in the year. Even on the relationship front we have something extraordinary, mainly because this is early in the year for planetary activity in your relationship sector. With the Sun not returning to your relationship sector until the 23rd August, August and September are usually the months when the spotlight is on your relationships. Instead, you start the month with Ceres, queen of nurturing in her early days, with her first visit in four years a chance to update your relationship needs and priorities. She will be joined by Venus, planet of love and guardian of your relationships on the 10th July, with a chance to turn desires into reality.
