Monthly Love Horoscopes - January 2020
The year gets off to a good start for friendship and relationship building, both collectively and individually. Venus, the planet of love will spend the first two weeks of January in your friendship sector and at a friendly aspect to Juno in your relationship sector. It is that friendly aspect the will ensure the year gets off to a good start when it comes to friendship and relationship building. Yet individually this is also a good start to the year on both fronts. It is on the relationship front that you begin the year with a secret weapon with Juno, queen of commitment and especially commitment to your relationships in your relationship sector until September. After months of planetary activity on the relationship front in the second half of last year, this has left you with a good sense of what you want from your relationships and what they need from you, leaving you with something to commit to. At the same time, while Venus will be supporting Juno and your relationships, for her your friendship sector is also a social and serendipitous part of your chart. With the laws of attraction and synchronicity in effect during the first two weeks of the year, Venus will be doing her best to create serendipitous moments and/or encounters. While this is a legacy that will continue even after Venus has left, from 14th January the planet of love will be taking things in a very different direction. It is then that Venus will return to a nostalgic and reflective part of your chart, beginning a nostalgic trip down love's memory lane that will end with her return to Aries next month. This is much earlier than you would normally expect but creates a month of two halves. In the meantime, the Moon's first visits to your communication, romantic and relationship sectors for the year will also be a valuable chance to check in. This will all happen in the first three weeks of the month.
While you will begin the year with Mars in your relationship sector, as he will leave on 3rd January he will be fighting to grab your attention from the get go. Mars returned while the Sun and Mercury were still in your relationship sector, so was around during the annual relationship update that takes place in October and November each year. Mars returned during Mercury's final days in retrograde motion here, so was able to take advantage of both the planet of communication's extended stay and of a chance to give your relationships, the past and unsaid words a voice. By the time the Sun and Mercury left, Mars had a good sense of what you want from your relationships and what they need from you and of what you are fighting for. Mars has been on his own here since early December and whether single, in a relationship or between relationships, he allows you to begin the year ready to fight for what you want from your relationships in 2020. Because Mars will leave in the early days of the month and there will be no more planetary activity in your relationship sector until later in the year, this needs to become part of your New Year's resolutions. The Moon will make its first visit to your relationship sector for the year from 9th January to 11th January and just days after Mars leaves this was always going to be an opportunity to give your emotional responses a voice. However, this will create a solar eclipse that on 10th/11th January offers an opportunity for a breakthrough. In the meantime, just as important is the Moon's first visit to your romantic sector for the year from 14th January to 16th January. With no planetary activity in your romantic sector, these romantically charged lunar vibes are your first real chance to embrace the spirit of romance in 2020. Equally important is the Moon's return to your relationship sector from 18th January to 20th January. This is both the Moon's first visit for the year and the first since Mars left, creating a valuable chance to check in. It is these monthly visits that will keep romantic and relationship matters on track.
The year not only begins on a romantically charged note but with the spirit of romance and adventure in effect. Thanks to Venus' return to an adventurous part of your chart just before Christmas, the planet of love spent the remaining days of 2019 and will spend the first two weeks of 2020 here. While Venus is capable of bringing the spirit of romance and adventure together on her own, it helps to know that you will also move into the New Year with the asteroid Juno in your romantic sector. Together this will stamp the spirit of romance and adventure into the DNA of the year before it even begins. Venus will be gone by 14th January but the Sun will return a week later, leaving the spirit of romance and adventure in safe hands. Meanwhile, while you begin the year with no planetary activity on the relationship front this is more a chance to take a brief break. Until Mercury left your relationship sector in the closing days of December, there had been continuous planetary activity in your relationship sector since October 2018. The Sun took the solar spotlight off your relationships just before Christmas but Mercury, the planet of communication stayed on for another week to focus on ending the year with the communication lines open. This is where things stand at the start of the year, with no planetary activity on the relationship front but with a good sense of what you want from your relationships and what they need from you. However, this is far from the end of the story, with Mars' return to your relationship sector on 3rd January opening the door to a whole new chapter. Everything until this point, including the 13 months Jupiter spent in your relationship sector from November 2018 to December 2019 and the three years that Saturn spent here, from December 2014 to December 2017, can be seen as a mission to get to the heart of what you want from your relationships and what they need from you. Apart from the Moon's visit to your relationship sector from 20th January to 22nd January, Mars will spend all his nearly seven weeks here on his own, helping you to fight for what you want from your relationships.
The spotlight is always on your relationships in January and quite literally, with the Sun always spending the first three weeks of every year in your relationship sector. This year you have a mix of the ordinary and the extraordinary, making this an important relationship month but also the start of an important relationship year. The ordinary is that the Sun will always spend the first three weeks of January in your relationship sector and until leaving on 21st January, will keep the solar spotlight on your relationships. It is also ordinary to have Mercury, the planet of communication here until 17th January. Even Venus, who left just before Christmas but not before updating your relationship wish list, was part of the ordinary pattern. What is extraordinary is starting the year with lucky Jupiter in your relationship sector, with his return last month bringing you to a point on the relationship front that everything until now has led up to and everything from now will lead on from. This is something you have been preparing for since Pluto returned to your relationship sector in 2008 and even more so since Saturn returned in 2017. This is the first time in our lifetime that Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn, the planets of luck, change and the planet that has the power to move mountains have been here at the same time. The full power of this will be felt when Saturn and Pluto align on 12th/13th January. This is when there will be full exposure to not only what you want from your relationships and what they need from you but how to make it happen. A lunar eclipse in Cancer on 10th/11th January will allow the Moon to advocate your own needs, putting a balance between your personal and relationship needs to the test. Fortunately, you have Mercury, the planet of communication in your relationship sector until 17th January. With so much focus on your relationships, it is important not to overlook Mars' final days in your romantic sector, for once he leaves on 3rd January there will be no more planetary activity on the romantic front until later in the year.
Because the Sun will always return to your relationship sector in January this is always going to be a month when, at some point, the focus will shift onto your relationships. This year you not only have a head start but the right kind of head start. It is the Sun's return to your relationship sector on 21st January that will always turn the solar spotlight onto your relationships at around this time every year. However, by then you should have a clear and confident sense of what you want from your relationships and this is all thanks to Venus. Venus, the planet of love returned to your relationship sector just before Christmas and until leaving on 14th January, will be updating your relationship wish list and attracting opportunities. Venus' departure will leave your relationship sector temporarily empty with Mercury, the planet of communication returning on 17th January to focus more on the communication lines before the Sun returns four days later. This will give Venus and Mercury and therefore heart and mind time on their own, before the solar spotlight shifts onto your relationships. It helps that you also start the year with Juno, queen of commitment and especially commitment to your relationships in your communication sector. However, it is not just your relationships that get a boost this month. When Mercury left your romantic sector late last month, he wrapped up a period of continuous planetary activity that had begun in October 2018 and included Jupiter's 13 month visit. With Jupiter having left early last month, the Sun just before Christmas and Mercury late last month you would be right to assume that a romantic chapter had run its course. Except nothing could be further from the truth, with Mars' return on 3rd January allowing matters of the heart and all things romantic to catch their second wind. With Mars here until mid February this is a chance to exploit all the romantic potential created in the past.
Because the Sun will always spend the first three weeks of January in your romantic sector, the solar spotlight is always on matters of the heart in the early weeks of every year. This means that it is not extraordinary to begin the year with planetary activity on the romantic front but what is extraordinary, is who those planets are. Thanks to his return to your romantic sector early last month, this is lucky Jupiter's first full month here in over a decade and is the first time that you have become the year with the planet of luck and expansion here since 2008. 2008 was the year that Pluto, the planet of change and revolution return and as he is still here, this has been a culmination of everything you have been working towards since then. You also begin the year with Saturn in your romantic sector, as he has been since December 2017, giving you a formidable line up of planetary support from the get go. Jupiter is the planet of luck, Pluto the planet of change and Saturn is the planet that can give you the power to move mountains and meeting up for the first time in your romantic sector in our lifetime makes this month's romantic conditions anything but ordinary. It is an alignment between Saturn and Pluto on 12th/13th January that will allow the love gods to flex their muscles. It also means that when the Sun leaves on 21st January that the romantic influence will continue. Until he leaves your romantic sector on 17th January Mercury, the planet of communication will work to give your heart a voice and to put heart and mind on the same page. You also have Mars in your communication sector until 3rd January and with Venus, the planet of love returning to your relationship sector on 14th January this creates an opportunity to have the communication lines open from the get go. While Venus' return to your relationship sector is not as spectacular as the planetary activity on the relationship front, having the planet of love on board will give your relationships everything they need.
Starting the year with Venus, the planet of love in your romantic sector is definitely an advantage and it could be said that you have won the love gods' lottery. While the Sun will return to your romantic sector on 21st January, Venus will be gone by then, making her time here a separate chapter. The Sun will return to shine the solar spotlight on matters of the heart and all things romantic at this time every year, looking at things in a more objective way than Venus will. As the planet of love, Venus is pure romance and having returned just before Christmas, she is able to get this year off to a romantically charged start. Because Venus won't return again until 2021, she will be working to make the first two weeks of this year count. Mercury will return on 17th January and as the planet of communication, he brings with him a chance to give your heart a voice and to put heart and mind on the same page. Mercury will be here when the Sun returns on 21st January, over a month after Venus initially returned last month. It is the Moon's return to your romantic sector from 25th January to 27th January that will create the first New Moon of 2020 and by that time you should have something to commit to. A New Moon is an opportunity for new beginnings and by then, no matter where things stand, this will be an opportunity to draw a new line in the sand. Meanwhile, there is good news on the relationship front as well. While Chiron turned direct in your relationship sector last month, Eris' direct turn on 11th January will finally shift your focus away from the past and onto the road ahead. However, while this is a turning point for your relationships, with a chance to put the past behind you, this isn't the good news I was referring to. The good news is Mars' return to your communication sector on 3rd January, where for the next six weeks he will not only declare war on communication barriers but will actively support both planets in your relationship sector. This makes January a good month for romantic and relationship matters.
It is a number of different factors that come together in a way that makes this a good month for romantic and relationship matters. There is something about starting the year off on the right foot that bodes well for the rest of the year and especially as this really is a taste of things to come. To begin with, it is your relationships that not only appear to have a head start they really do. For the first time in eight decades, you begin the year with Uranus in your relationship sector and while he has been here since March, it wasn't until the closing weeks of 2019 that he gained more direct access to the massive support building on the communication front. One of the most formidable line ups of planets in your communication sector as already assembled and will remain throughout 2020. However it is having Mercury, the planet of communication in your communication sector until 17th January that will give you a practical head start. With Uranus in retrograde motion until 11th January, to start with this puts the focus more on giving your relationships, the past and unsaid words a voice. Mercury and a parade of planets in your communication sector will also be there to support your relationships as Uranus turns direct and your relationship focus shifts onto the journey ahead. This sends a clear signal from the get go that communication and relationship forces are working together and will do for the whole of 2020. Meanwhile, while you begin the year with Neptune in your romantic sector, as this has been your reality since his return in 2012 this is now par for the course. With the Sun and Mercury not returning until next month, it appears that matters of the heart will have to wait their turn. However, while that is the case they won't have to wait for long with Venus returning to your romantic sector on 14th January. Venus will have been and gone by the time the Sun returns next month, giving her and Neptune a chance to leave the reality checks for later. When Venus and Neptune, the planets of love and dreams get together in your romantic sector this is best enjoyed wearing your rose coloured glasses.
In their own way, romantic and relationship matters get everything they need this month without demanding anything in return. There is some major planetary activity this month but romantic and relationship matters manage to stay out the limelight, both falling in the Goldilocks zone. This is the zone where there is enough going right to give romantic and relationship matters what they need, but without so much attention that it creates demands. While there is no planetary activity in your relationship sector, what you do have is near continuous planetary activity in your communication sector, which is giving you your relationships a voice. In fact, until she leaves your communication sector on 14th January, as the planet of love Venus' sole mission is to give your heart and your relationships a voice. It is just three days later that Mercury, the planet of communication will return to your communication sector on 17th January and with the Sun returning four days later, there is planetary activity here for all but three days this month. The Moon will make its first visit to your relationship sector for the year from 7th January to 9th January and with Venus, the planet of love still in your communication sector she will be on hand to give your emotional responses and relationships a voice. As the Moon comes full circle from last month's Full Moon, this is something that you didn't have then. In the meantime, with Chiron in his first full month in direct motion in your romantic sector and Eris turning direct here on 11th January, romantic forces are dialling back. Eris is a dwarf planet and Chiron even smaller than that but while they aren't major players, the fact that they are waking up means the love gods are preparing for something. That something is Venus' return to your romantic sector next month, which will be the first of many romantic opportunities this year holds. The Moon will return to your romantic sector from 2nd January to 5th January and by 30th January will be back again, to see out the month here.
While Venus, the planet of love left Capricorn just before Christmas her influence is apparent from the get go. It was less that Venus had a chance to update your romantic and relationship desires and expectations before you began your birthday month and new solar year or moved into the New Year and more what she experienced during her time here. Venus won't return to Capricorn until early next year, so won't spend a moment of 2020 here. However, she doesn't need to and not just because she has already banked your romantic and relationship desires and expectations. When Venus moved through Capricorn all she had to go on was what your heart was telling you and the cosmic conditions she knew you had to work with. It is the latter that had Venus continuously going back to your heart, asking that it raise the bar, knowing that the possibilities ahead were almost limitless. For the first time in eight decades, you begin the year with Uranus in your romantic sector and while he returned last March, it wasn't until Venus moved through Capricorn and into a friendly aspect last month that she saw the possibilities. Uranus is turning direct in your romantic sector on 11th January and still surrounded by support from the planets in Capricorn, if the romantic desires and expectations Venus left you with feel more like wishful thinking, it is because she knows what's possible. You also not only begin the year with the North Node in your relationship sector but there will be a lunar eclipse here on 10th/11th January. Venus connected directly with Uranus and the North Node as she moved through Capricorn, so she knows the enormous power and potential they both have access to and the ongoing support for romantic and relationship matters. The Moon's first visit to your romantic sector this year comes while Uranus is still in retrograde motion, with romantically charged lunar vibes from 5th January to 7th January tapping into a sense of romantic nostalgia. It is the Moon's first visit to your relationship sector for the year from 9th January to 11th January that will create the lunar eclipse and the breakthroughs this will make possible.
Starting the year with Venus, the planet of love in Aquarius is always going to be an advantage and especially as she will have been and gone by the time the Sun returns on 21st January. This not only gives you a chance to update your romantic and relationship desires and expectations for the coming year before your birthday month and new solar year begin but without the Sun's need for reality checks. As the planet of love, Venus speaks through your heart is focused on what you want, while the Sun works to keep it real. Without the Sun asking how you are going to turn desires into reality, this allows your romantic and relationship desires and expectations for the coming year to thrive in their own bubble. While Venus will leave on 14th January, timing is on her side in that the Moon will make its first visits to your romantic and relationship sectors for the year while she is still here. The Moon will make its first visit to your romantic sector for the year from 7th January to 9th January and coming full circle from last month's Full Moon, these romantically charged lunar vibes will arrive with a vengeance. They will then be further fuelled by their friendly aspect to Venus. These will be the most important days of the month if not the year for defining your romantic desires and expectations for the coming year and it is all about wishful thinking. The Moon will make its first visit to your relationship sector for the year from 12th January to 14th January, leaving just hours before Venus leaves Aquarius. Here the Moon and Venus will clash and in the Moon's final hours this could see a spike in relationship tension as your personal and relationship needs clash. While this is different from the romantic bubble the Moon will create while moving through your romantic sector, this last minute clash between your personal and relationship needs is just as important. For this will be a chance to get to the heart of what you want from your relationships and what they need from you, just hours before Venus finishes wrapping up her mission to update your romantic and relationship desires and expectations.
While it is business as usual on both the romantic and relationship fronts at the start of the year, as business as usual means that romantic and relationship matters have what they need but are making no demands, this is good news. However, it does give a false impression, with the love gods' not only starting the year with a pair of wildcards up their sleeve but playing them in the first two weeks of the year. For the second time in as many years, you begin the year with the North Node in your romantic sector and this is where the first wildcard will come from. While the North Node has been here since November 2018, quietly but confidently keeping matters of the heart on track, it is very different when a New or Full Moon falls here. It is the lunar nodes that create eclipses and this is the reason why the Moon's first visit to your romantic sector for the year, from 9th January to 12th January, will create a lunar eclipse on 10th/11th January. This is a super charged version of the romantically charged Full Moon that will always fall at some point within the last 10 days and the first three weeks of each year, but as an eclipse gives the North Node and the element of fate a foothold. This is the love gods' first wildcard and they will play their second just days later. It is just two days after the Moon wraps up both its first visit to your romantic sector for the year and the lunar eclipse this will create when on 14th January Venus, the planet of love will return to Pisces. With the North Node holding onto the romantic residue from the lunar eclipse and Venus moving into a friendly aspect in her early days, this will give the planet of love access to everything that has been triggered. Meanwhile, while there is no planetary activity in your relationship sector you have the support of Uranus in your communication sector. Uranus begins the year in retrograde motion but a direct turn on 11th January will ensure the communication lines are open and flowing smoothly by the time the Moon makes its first visit to your relationship sector for the year, from 14th January to 16th January. The Moon will return just hours before Venus' return to Pisces on 14th January.
